Attended one of the oldest youth festivals with started in 1947 in Prague with exactly 70 years of existence started today in Sochi, Russia. This year featuring over twenty thousand participants from over 150 countries. Making this festival happen are 8000 volunteers and over 200 public ambassadors.
This is a platform for dialogue, global form of communication: through discussions, cultural programs, sports, through free communication to find ways to confront the challenges that younger generation is facing today.
The 19th World Festival of Youth and Students (WFYS) is a unique event, where young people from around the world unite to develop a vision for our planet’s future. Energetic and engaged young people from 180 countries, who have already been actively involved in molding the future of their home countries, come together at the Festival and spend a week shaping the main trends in global development for 2030.
This years program includes a collection of platforms, starting from panel discussions, open lectures on specific youth policy and international relations and ending with a collection of creative and cultural events. WFYS 2017 key point would be Culture & Globalization, Global Economy, Knowledge Economy, Public Institutions, Politics and international security and public institution development.
The working languages are the official languages of the UN: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.
